According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Oct 17, production of ethylene in September was 389,700mt, down 9.7% on year as turnaround took place at an ethylene facility. Compared to the previous month, production decreased by 3.4%. Operation rates of ethylene facilities that were in operation were at 80.2%, down 1.3 points on year and down 1.5 points on month. Turnaround of ethylene facilities took place at one company's one facility in August and September 2024. In September 2023, no turnaround took place.
