The average price for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on a CIF Japan basis in February was at Yen 94,359 per metric ton (mt), up Yen 6,886 from the previous month and up Yen 2,774 from the same month a year earlier, according to preliminary statistics by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). Total LPG imports declared by importers in January reached around 847,000 mt, down 29.0 % from the month before and showed a 4.0% decrease on year. The average exchange rate for February was 148.14 yen to the dollar.
