The 23th Singapore International Bunkering Conference (SIBCON) began on Oct 8 at the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore that was scheduled to last until Oct 10. It would discuss several topics including the promotion of digitalization in bunker fuel operations, efficiency improvements through the introduction of AI (artificial intelligence), trends of supply/demand for LNG bunkering, bio-bunkers, methanol, and ammonia, as well as energy transition efforts toward decarbonization in shipping industries. Around 1,800 attendees were expected during the conference, and one participant said that discussions would unfold regarding the availability of alternative fuels and future supply scenarios.
