The sales volume of bunker oil was 36 mil mt from January to August this year, up by 7% from the same period last year. Of this, total bio-fuels and liquefied natural gas (LNG) reached a cumulative total of 700,000mt, exceeding the total annual volume for 2022. Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and the Ministry of Transport mentioned this at the 23rd Singapore International Bunkering Conference (SIBCON) on Oct 8-10.

Dr Amy Khor announced that bunker oil suppliers will be obligated to submit electronic bunker delivery notes (e-BDNs) from Apr 1, 2025. It is expected to increase transaction efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
