Total Energies supplies its first B100 bio-bunker in Singapore
Total Energies Marine Fuels, a subsidiary of Total Energies, supplied its first delivery of Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME B100) as a bunker fuel in Singapore.
Total Energies has supplied low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) blended with UCOME-based biofuels of up to 30% in the past, but this was the first time B100 was supplied in Singapore.
Total Energies Marine Fuels supplied 700mt of UCOME B100 to Glovis Cosmos owned by Hyundai Glovis on Aug 5. Compared to regular bunkers, UCOME B100 is able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 to 90% when considering the entire process from fuel production to actual use.
