According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Aug 22, production of ethylene in July was 399,300mt, down 2.8% on year due to facility maintenance. Compared to the previous month, production increased by 11.4%. Operation rates of ethylene plants were at 83.2%, up 6.8 points on year and up 5.4 points on month. Turnaround of ethylene plants took place at one company's one plant in July 2024 and two companies' two plants in June 2024. No turnaround took place in July 2023.
