According to information from the National Energy Administration of China released on Jul 13, the country power consumption in June rose 6.1% on year to 635 bil kWh.

Power demand increased by 12.9% on year to 7.6 bil kWh from the agricultural sector and by 4.3% on year to 441.2 bil kWh from the industrial sector. Power demand from tertiary industries increased 7.0% on year to 103.7 bil kWh while households consumed 82.5 bil kWh, up 14.3% on year.

Total power consumption for the period January to June amounted to 3.3547 trillion kWh, down 1.3% from the same period last year. Of this, power consumption in the agricultural sector rose 8.2% on year to 37.3 bil kWh while consumption fell by 2.5% on year to 2.251 trillion kWh in the industrial sector and by 4.0% on year to 533.3 bil kWh in tertiary industries. Household consumption increased 6.6% on year to 533.1 bil kWh.
