Indonesia cuts oil and gas investment in 2020 by 15%

SKK Migas, the Upstream Oil and Gas Special Regulator in Indonesia, has revised down its target for upstream oil and gas investment in 2020 by 14.5% from its initial plan. Investment is reduced from $13.8 billion to $11.8 billion. However, this is an increase of about 3% compared to 2019. Investments as of May were reported to be only one-third of the new target. SKK Migas also expects that investment will accelerate from the second half of 2020 as many sources view that oil and gas prices in global trade may rise from the third quarter of this year.
