Calls to review price index in South Korea with US LPG imports exceeding 90%

Domestic sellers for liquified petroleum gas (LPG) in South Korea recently increased imports of LPG ex-US. According to statistics from the Korean International Trading Association (KITA), the total value of LPG imports in South Korea from January to September in this year was at $2.419 billion, with US imports amounting to $2.252 billion or 91.1%. On the other hand, offers in the domestic market are based on the contract price (CP) released by Saudi Arabian state-owned company Saudi Aramco. Thus, some sources said that the price index should be revised.

After the US, the second highest import value was from the United Arab Emirates amounting to $78.85 million or 3.3%, followed by Qatar which amounted to $33.95 million or 1.4% and Saudi Arabia which amounted to $26.95 million or 1.1%.
